@Marcel

Be warned. If you don't replace your pads you may end up with a mess on your desk.

Thanks so much for this Epson stylus C46. Great Christmas gift :-)

Only one enhancement in the how-to; the following statements are (for C46) in the wrong order:

(The question whether the pads have been replaced pops up after protection resetting)

•If it asks if you replaced with the pads; say “YES”. Then close the window.
•You will see a SSC Service Utilitiy icon (it looks like a printer) in the system tray (next to your click), and LEFT click.
•A menu will appear, from here you can click on “Protection counter” (its a red cross), then “reset protection counter”.

This OpenSRS package is a PEAR package. You MUST install PHP PEAR (http://pear.php.net/) in order to use it. The pear.php is part of PHP PEAR.

Nice script! Change the title of the page though ("RageRank" should be "PageRank") to increase relevancy in a search. Kind of ironic, yeah?

If you change your administrative email contact (to receive the transfer code), GD will prevent transfers to another registrant for TWO MONTHS for "your protection". Possibly true, possibly another obfuscation step to make it difficult to transfer away. So, if you have any access to the existing email account, use it.

This can be caused by having no space left on your samba server causing logging to fail alongside your patience.

Look for a message like:

tdb(/var/cache/samba/locking.tdb): expand_file write of 8192 bytes failed (No space left on device)

I had this same issue with my Pavilion N5340. Since I am the original owner and only user of this notebook, I know it was never handled rough, etc.

About 2 years ago, I acquired an Pavilion XF235 from craigslist.org (Free) - with a bad power connector.

I recently acquired an Omnibook XE3-GC from E-bay for about $3. - with a bad power connector.

This is such a common problem with HP notebooks, it is difficult to believe they were not aware of the issue.

A couple of repair tips:

1) Be sure to remove the standoff screws from the external connectors for the printer, display, etc. (otherwise, the main board can not be removed)

2) After soldering the new connector in place. Apply a few drops of epoxy between the connector and the board. This relieves some of the stress from the solder joints and seems to make the repair last longer.
